Welcome to Old Sierra Historical Ranch.  Turn back the pages of history and learn a new sense of how life was lived in a bygone era.  A visit to Old Sierra Historical Ranch will help bring reality of how early settlers lived day to day.  Leaving behind the city, the cars, video games, and television, children are transported back in time to the 1850's.

With the help of Miss Rose and the crew of Old Sierra Historical Ranch, children learn about candle making, rope making, blacksmithing and other skills that were a vital part of daily life moving west.

The early settlers had to depend on their skills to survive in a harsh environment.  Since there were no hardware or grocery stores, they made due with what the land provided or with what they could carry with them on their journey.

Along with learning new skills, visitors to the past will eat country style cooking and dress in periodical costumes.  It is all a part of Old Sierra Historical Ranch!  A real place, not a movie set where manners are practiced as well as respect for elders and the land.

Old Sierra Historical Ranch offers a wide variety of school or group field trips which are all conducted on a private ranch located in the beautiful Sierra foothills.  This ranch is secluded and the area is rich with history, which we will gladly share with your group. Nothing has been left to chance when it comes to the authentic nature of the camp.

Many years of painstaking research has gone into the preparation and construction of the site, as well as all of the activities that are performed during the camp. We promise an experience unlike you or your class or group has ever had before!
